Biography
Having graduated with a 2:1 degree in English Literature from Lancaster University, where I Captained the BUSA Equestrian Team, I moved to Highgate, London to live with four of my closest pals. There I embarked on a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism and on graduating I secured my first job at ITN, where I cut my teeth as a reporter and presenter on 5 News and the ITN Newschannel.
With my parents having a permit to train racehorses on their farm in East Sussex, I spent most of my spare time exercising their horses and attending the local racetracks and point-to points. It wasn't too long before a dream job opportunity manifested itself; presenting on the initial Attheraces channel, combining my love of broadcasting and racing. Looking back it was a bit of a baptism of fire and some of those early 'Lets Go Racing' programmes I would like to forget, but I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of them!
The other side of my family are obsessed with the other kind of horsepower, in fact, my brother is now one of the best young drivers in the country and on the verge of a Formula One drive. Following his career has give me great pleasure, and the opportunity to report on motor racing, which has even featured in my stints on Talk Sport Radio, columns in the Daily Star and more recently The Sun and At The Races Website.
My experience of live and unscripted broadcasts on the Winning Post and at Royal Ascot for Sky Sports, has taught me to be confident and composed under pressure and to expect the unexpected. I love the challenge of entertaining a large audience and am really looking forward to co-hosting the October Club Dinner at the Savoy again this year, the Animal Health Trust Awards at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in November and Exeter Racecourses' Cheltenham Festival preview night in February.
As well as Sport, I also have a passion for fashion and food and would love to report on both in the future. In the run up to Royal Ascot this year I was approached by Milliner Dawn Guibert who asked me to be one of her muses and I'm delighted to say that I will be wearing her creations at all of the prestigious race meetings in the future, lucky me!
